Choosing Sustainable Practices at The Greenhouse Retreats
Being conscious of our environment is a full time job, so when we go on holiday, it is no wonder we all drop the ball a little.
For this reason we love making it easy for us all to have the best holiday ever and nurture our lovely land and environment and the same time.
Here at The Greenhouse Retreats we believe that the teeny tiny single use plastic bottles of a generic wash solution is so yesterday, along with rolls of plastic wrap, any kind of "disposable" dining or cutlery and heavy duty toxic cleaning and bathroom products.
Not only are our bathroom products full size, but they are all from our beautiful Blue Mountains. iKOU is our brand of choice for bathroom, essential oils and candles and even skincare if you choose one our upgrades. All the iKOU products are made from beautiful botanical ingredients free of toxic chemicals and locally made here in NSW Australia. We reuse the dispenser bottles via refill system.
Our amazing housekeeping team use environmentally friendly cleaning products and in house during your stay we provide Koala Eco cleaning products including dish wash, laundry liquid and kitchen spray.
We are currently transitioning to sustainable coffee pods from Tripod, these have been tried and tested by me personally and I can confirm they taste just as good as the aluminium options. These pods are compostable, biodegradable and recyclable.
New Our commitment to One Tree Planted is 50 Trees per month, these trees are planted in bushfire affected zones and go towards rebuilding these areas.
