Extra Beds - we have 4 bedrooms for 8 adults (or children) and we also provide free of charge 2 beni beds, which can be used for small children. They are also fun to lounge around on by the pool or even take to the beach.
Back to Nature - the streets are quiet - there are no shops, pubs or clubs, just you the beach and nature. Get the kids off devices and onto the coastal walks, ocean swims and end the day with the fire pit and games night. We recommend the Pearl Beach to Patonga walk, it has spectacular views at the top over to Palm beach and your reward is a cold beverage to The Boat House at Patonga. Note it is a long fairly step walk and best for older kids over 10 and not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.
Catering - we know you may love to cook but we can sort you out for at least one night with our "First Night Sorted" meal drop, how perfect to have a hearty wholefood meal dropped at your door ready for you to heat and serve.

Pearl Beach for Kids: What to Do

On the Beach

The Pearl Beach swimming enclosure is a game-changer for parents of younger children. The water is calm, the depth is gradual and the bay is protected. Older kids love snorkelling along the rocks on the northern end of the beach.

The Arboretum

The Pearl Beach Arboretum is a genuinely wonderful family walk — shaded, interesting and short enough for primary-school-aged children. Look for the enormous Moreton Bay figs and the resident kookaburras.

The Patonga Ferry

Kids love the Patonga to Palm Beach ferry. The 30-minute crossing across Broken Bay is an adventure in itself — look for dolphins in the channel. Palm Beach has a patrolled ocean beach and the filming location of Home and Away for any young fans. It also has loads of great dining (and wineing) spots for the whole family.

Bouddi National Park

For older children or active families, the Bouddi Coastal Walk is outstanding. The section from Maitland Bay to Little Beach takes about 90 minutes and rewards with sweeping coastal views and a near-private beach at the end.

The ideal Pearl Beach weekend begins with arrival before sunset. Drop your bags, open the wine, and head straight to the pool terrace. The light on the water at dusk here is extraordinary. Order in from a local delivery service, or pick up something beautiful from one of the Central Coast's providores on your way through — this is a weekend for eating well and doing nothing in a hurry.

Saturday: Beach, Pampering, Water

Morning

Pearl Beach itself is a short stroll from Moso House. The beach is, calm and rarely crowded — a true rarity on the NSW coast. Bring a good book and arrive early. If you're feeling active, the Pearl Beach Arboretum is a stunning 15-minute walk through native bushland and worth every step. Coco Massage and Facials is also a short walk but be sure to book in advance weekends are super busy.

Lunch

Take the ferry from Patonga (a quick drive or scenic 90-minute coastal walk away) over to Palm Beach for lunch. The Boathouse at Palm Beach is a favourite. Alternatively, the Patonga Boathouse Hotel does a brilliant waterside pub lunch.

Afternoon

Return to Moso House for a sauna and ice bath session. Begin with 15 minutes in the sauna, follow with a 2-minute cold plunge, and repeat twice. The endorphin release is real. Afterwards, float in the pool with something cold in hand — you've earned it.

Sunday: Coast Walk and the Drive Home

Sunday mornings at Pearl Beach are sacred. Walk to the beach one last time, and if you have the energy a short drive to begin the Bouddi Coastal Walk Even the first section — out to Maitland Bay — rewards with jaw-dropping Pacific views. Sundays are a great day to book your personalised yoga session with one of the Moso instructors, be sure to organise this in advance to avoid unavailability. . Then back to Moso House for a slow 3pm checkout before heading home.

Making the Most Out of Your Family Time Away in NSW

Sitting between the ocean and the bushland, The Central Coast New South Wales boasts spectacular beaches and breathtaking, diverse landscapes. The best thing about travelling to the Coast is that it offers an array of opportunities for a family to travel together and enjoy the amazing Australian coastal bushland. The coast has many things to offer families of all ages from amazing nature walks, to the best beaches and plenty of fun activities.

Gosford Chocolate Factory

Ok so if you want to start the weekend with a massive home run, stop off at the Gosford Chocolate Factory - this is on the way to all our Retreats so you can stop if for a quick shop and stock up on goodies for your weekend, or attend a tour or workshop (book in advance). There is even a cafe.

Mt. Ettalong Lookout

You may want to burn off some of that chocolate rush so once you have checked in we recommend an easy and peaceful walk to Mt. Ettalong Lookout . Stroll along an old trail through the famous Sydney Red Gums and reach two fantastic fenced lookout platforms — one overlooks Pearl Beach, and the other overlooks Umina and Ettalong.

It’s best to visit Mt. Ettalong Lookout during sunrise or sunset, so it’s important to make sure your group is staying near the area to catch the view at its finest. At The Greenhouse Retreats, our luxury getaways, The Pavilions , The Silver Loft , The One or Moso House , are located less than a minute's walk from Pearl Beach, meaning when you stay with us, you’ll have easy access to the Mt. Ettalong Lookout and other nearby tourist spots!

The Boathouse at Patonga

The Boathouse at Patonga is the best place for a family lunch or early dinner, mostly outdoors, you can enjoy alfresco dining with ocean and wharf views. The food is great with classic pub fare like burgners, fish and chips, pizzas and great salads. Kids can play on the beach and explore Patonga while you enjoy a bevy or two. A fun thing to do is do the walk over from Pearl Beach, approx 45 minutes, enjoy the lock out on the way and finish up at Patonga for lunch, then uber home!

Soak Up Some Sun at Macmasters Beach

Your trip to the Central Coast will not be complete without visiting one of the most popular beaches in town. Despite being a surfing hotspot, Macmasters Beach is a relatively quieter area on the Central Coast - the rock pool is always a hit with the kids.
